B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in electrical engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Yokohama National University (YNU), Yokohama, Japan.

Research interests: Power electronics, DC-AC/DC-DC power converters design, multilevel converters, digital control of power converters, machine drives.
